Gwyl at ddant pawb yn dathlu canmlwyddiant geni Roald Dahl. I ddathlu un o brif awduron llyfrau plant y byd bydd y Ganolfan yn cael ei thrawsnewid i fyd o gymeriadau a straeon unigryw yr awdur a anwyd yng Nghaerdydd.
Fel rhan o’r dathliadau bydd cyfle i weld sioe deuluol llawn hiwmor am fywyd Roald Dahl. Hefyd bydd perfformiadau theatrig unigryw o sioe ‘The Twits’. Bydd cymysgwch o weithgareddau rhyngweithiol lle gallwch ddylunio ‘dreambottles’ fel yn y BFG, cwrdd â chreaduriaid fel gwnaeth James yn yr Eirinen Wlanog Enfawr a phrofi blasau egsotig fel Charlie yn y Ffatri Siocled.
Mi fydd yr awdur a’r cartwnydd Sion Tomos Owen, a ddaeth i amlygrwydd wrth gyflwyno rhaglen Pobol y Rhondda ar S4C, yn arlunio trwy’r dydd ac yn rhedeg gweithdai cartwnio sydd yn sicr o fod yn hwyl i blant o oed 1 i 100. Bydd cyfle hefyd i oedolion fynychu gweithdy Ysgrifennu i Blant gyda’r cyn- ddarlithydd ac awdures lleol Angela Fish (Ben and the Spider Gate).
Mae’r Wyl yma yn digwydd mewn partneriaeth â Llyfrgelloedd Rhondda Cynon Taf a Chwmni Theatr Avant.
There’ll be something for everyone in this Festival which is running to coincide with the celebration to mark 100 years since the birth of Roald Dahl. The Centre will be transformed into a dreamscape where the imagination of the world’s number one storyteller will come to life.
There will be rooms jam packed with activities where you can design your own ‘dreambottles’ like in the BFG, meet critters like James and the Giant Peach and sample exotic flavours just like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Also there are exclusive theatrical performances of ‘The Twits’ and a biographical performance on the life of Roald Dahl.
The author and cartoonist Sion Tomos Owen, who presented the programme Pobol y Rhondda on S4C, will be in attendance on the day, illustrating and running a cartooning workshop that is sure to be great fun for kids age 1 to 100. There will also be an opportunity for adults to attend a Writing for Children workshop with lecturer and local author Angela Fish (Ben and the Spider Gate).
